THE SUPERNATURAL HEALINGS

            Every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ is entitled to lay hands on the sick and the sick will recover. Mark 16:17-18 say, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;18 .They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” The power to heal the sick is in categories. Baptized in the Holy Ghost, we need to be readily conscious to ask God to give us gifts that would back up our ministries – gifts of revelation, supernatural faith, working of miracles and healing. Jesus noted that no child would ask his father for bread and he would give him stone instead. Every good and perfect gift comes from God, from His Holy Ghost. We should all ask for enablement and accompaniment of His Holy Spirit.

            The faith of elders can bring healing but that is not the supernatural healing we are talking about. James said in James 5:13-15 (KJV) “Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” Then to show you another kind of prayer which is different from supernatural healing we are talking about, though it can heal, that’s why many received healing. Leave that situation and begin to ask God for supernatural gifts of healing which God gives Himself as an overdraft. Everybody has prayed but this is a solution the supernatural gifts can take care of. Paul was in that situation when he nearly lost his great partner. Philippians 2:25-30 (TLB) “Meanwhile, I thought I ought to send Epaphroditus back to you. You sent him to help me in my need; well, he and I have been real brothers, working and battling side by side.  Now I am sending him home again, for he has been homesick for all of you and upset because you heard that he was ill.  And he surely was; in fact, he almost died. But God had mercy on him and on me, too, not allowing me to have this sorrow on top of everything else.  So I am all the more anxious to get him back to you again, for I know how thankful you will be to see him, and that will make me happy and lighten all my cares.  Welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and show your appreciation,  for he risked his life for the work of Christ and was at the point of death while trying to do for me the things you couldn't do because you were far away.” He battled in prayer, that one heals too, but it is not the same as when Paul went into the Island and saw that sick man, laid hands upon him and the sickness disappeared immediately. This was the same Paul. But for Epaphroditus he prayed in the morning, in the noon and at night but the sickness persisted. The more he prayed the more things got out of hand. It is a mystery. Sometimes one wonders what is going on. It does not however mean that this one would not achieve healing. It is only slower than the supernatural gifts of healing His partner would have died. He prayed, struggled, because the gift was not in his pocket otherwise he would have been immediately healed.

            Everything depends on the grace of God. God is the sole agent and we are all passive recipients. We pray and cry and then it works out sometimes. This is why we don’t need to be in confusion whether we should pray once or twice, thrice or four times. Pray earnestly, continue in prayer and then the automatic one which is also the gift of God, look out and desire for it. When it comes it is automatic. At certain stages, the automatic one will come all the time because you know it is available, you can always ask God for it and God will have mercy. We are doing the work of the spirit. Epaphoditus was evidently healed through the Lord is direct, miraculous intervention via the gifts of healing that some believers processed during the apostolic era. But the gifts of supernatural healing are automatic, instantaneous, sudden and immediate. It is a special supernatural endowment by the spirit of God that no matter the state of the disease or sicknesses, the sick is healed without an iota or trace of the former state. God has the ability to do this. The gifts of supernatural healing are for the supernatural healings of diseases and infirm people without any natural means of any source.

            The gifts of supernatural healings work together the gifts of working of miracles such as raising the dead most of the time. It would require a miracle to get all the organs of the body that are dead back to life and supernatural healing keys in to get this done. Can you ever develop spiritual appetite? Can you ever desire that the will of God be done? It is not enough to read the word of God that says, “The work I do you would do also and greater works would you do.” How would you do greater works if you don’t have knowledge how it is done? Luke 7:11-16 (TLB) “Not long afterwards Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, with the usual great crowd at his heels.  A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The boy who had died was the only son of his widowed mother, and many mourners from the village were with her.  When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with sympathy. "Don't cry!" he said.  Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. "Laddie," he said, "come back to life again."  Then the boy sat up and began to talk to those around him! And Jesus gave him back to his mother.  A great fear swept the crowd, and they exclaimed with praises to God, "A mighty prophet has risen among us," and, "We have seen the hand of God at work today.” I expect that for this to happen am open to it. It has happened and it would happen again. That is the operation of supernatural healing and supernatural working of miracles in combination. It is possible it would happen. It is also possible that when it has not come you must tarry in prayer until the sick gets healed. Do not be discouraged in the process of praying. That is the period to look forward among your team for a prophecy that would encourage you. That was at the point when Jahazie rose and prophesied to Jehosaphat and Judah “Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehosephat, thus saith the Lord unto you, be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s…” 2 Chronicles 20:15-17. Anybody can rise with supernatural anointing like this prophet and prophecy giving a sense of direction and when it is followed we arrive at one answer without waste of time. This is the fellowship of mature people, not for small boys. When I gather men around me I am sensitive whom the Lord will use.

            Raising Lazarus from the dead John 11:17-41 “Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already. Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:  And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house. Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee. As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him. Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there. Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,  And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.” This was supernatural operation. The time to believe God extraordinary has come and you must make up your mind. Don’t only pray for bread and fish or for open doors, pray for the power of God to come upon you for anointing will put food on your table. Nearly all of us understand about healings and of course Jesus brought it into prominence by His own ministry which was ministry of healing. Our own ministry cannot be different. It is by asking, by desire. It is not only a seasonal thing but must go through every day of our lives. We must regularly be in the business of healing the sick.

            He also gave authority to His disciples to heal the sick. That was the first thing He did. Matthew 10:7-8 (KJV) “And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” Look at the job description He gave, which one is small? Which one does not need gift from the Holy Spirit for which you were baptized? Why are you overwhelmed in your inward man? I emphasize supernatural healings because you must have wondered by experience why many sicknesses have not responded to your prayers. Often you seem to be intimidated by the stubbornness of this sickness. I want you to recognized the fact that there are supernatural healings and you need to make yourself open to use it. Ask God to bless you with it and let it be your constant working instrument like the rod of Moses or the mantle of Elijah. There is no other staff, no mantle now than the name of Jesus, than the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I want the churches, especially of Living Word Ministries, to be anointed, houses of healing, miracles, power, signs and wonders. What I am doing right now is showing you the way. The supernatural healings has nothing to do with medical healing. Dr. Luke was with Paul when he was shipwrecked in the Island of Malta nothing is said at all to the effect that Luke ministered to the folks with his medical knowledge but the father-in-law of the chief man of the Island was sick unto death and Paul laid hands on him and healed him by supernatural power and the sick were brought to Paul in that Island and he healed them supernaturally. Acts 28:7-9 (KJV) “In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously. And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed.”

            Supernatural healing does not choose the kind of sickness to heal. It does not mind how serious or how mild the sickness is. You don’t go down trying to evaluate whether it is cancer or whatever. Supernatural power heals everything. Nothing stands before it. Matthew 15:30-31 (TLB) “And a vast crowd brought him their lame, blind, maimed, and those who couldn't speak, and many others, and laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all.  What a spectacle it was! Those who hadn't been able to say a word before were talking excitedly, and those with missing arms and legs had new ones; the crippled were walking and jumping around, and those who had been blind were gazing about them! The crowds just marveled, and praised the God of Israel.” He healed them all, supernaturally. What a mighty God we serve that is what you should be mindful of for what you see is what you look like. What you see, you become. What you imagine comes to you.

            There was no manifestation of supernatural healing upon Christ until the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in the form of a dove to anoint Him to minister that these things began to happen. Until the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus there was no manifestation, no miracles at all. Things only began to happen after the Holy Spirit descended upon Him. This is why you need to pray, “Lord, anoint me. Let the Holy Ghost descend upon me. Lord, you anointed Jesus and Elijah; you anointed Elisha who asked for double portion. The secrete is in your anointing, I am hungry for it, give it to me oh God that I may liberate my people.” This should be the desire of every believer in ministry. Jesus Himself said, “I do no works…” He never claimed to do them, He said, “My father in me, He doeth them.” It is not about you but about the anointing. Open your hearts and seek the right thing. Let your heart be satisfied with the glory of God, with the power of God, with the anointing of God. When I saw many great men of God who came from all parts of the world to Aba in those days I wondered, “What manner of revelations did they receive?” what level of gospel did they receive. When I read the scriptures, I found their source. Our ministration this days should not be apologetic, we should be anointed with the Holy Spirit and yield our vessels to the living God.

            John 5:18-19 (KJV) “Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” The son can do nothing for Himself but what He sees the father doing. What we see our master Jesus doing should be our standard. We don’t need to cut corners or revisit. There is no way anyone can be a minister and remain useless, always complaining. When Jesus was anointed to do the supernatural He went into His hometown Synagogue. Whatever you receive in life, demonstrate it first at your home. It is not the big title behind your name that matters but rather Luke 4:18 (KJV) “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” How many of us have this resume, this manifesto?

            Examples of supernatural healings, John 9:1-7 “And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.” Works of God is works of power, works of the Holy Ghost. God brings forth His works, reworks what satan has spoiled and changes the plans of the devil. Devil is responsible for sickness and God’s is to rework that which has been spoiled. Supernatural healing and supernatural miracles are the works of God.

            John 5:2-9 (TLB) “Inside the city, near the Sheep Gate, was Bethesda Pool, with five covered platforms or porches surrounding it.  Crowds of sick folks-lame, blind, or with paralyzed limbs-lay on the platforms (waiting for a certain movement of the water,  for an angel of the Lord came from time to time and disturbed the water, and the first person to step down into it afterwards was healed). One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years.  When Jesus saw him and knew how long he had been ill, he asked him, "Would you like to get well?"  "I can't," the sick man said, "for I have no one to help me into the pool at the movement of the water. While I am trying to get there, someone else always gets in ahead of me."  Jesus told him, "Stand up, roll up your sleeping mat and go on home!" Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up the mat and began walking!” The history of healing the sick did not start today it began right from the fall of men when the Lord began to provide solutions for healing. This movement of the water came from heaven and whoever went on first became healed but when Jesus saw this man He gave him unconditional healing. Jesus did not need to give man any conditions to heal him he does not need any today to heal us.

            Luke 13:10-13 (TLB) “One Sabbath as he was teaching in a synagogue,  he saw a seriously handicapped woman who had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to straighten herself.  Calling her over to him Jesus said, "Woman, you are healed of your sickness!"  He touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised and thanked God!” Jesus said to her “Woman, you are healed of your sickness.” Just like that the Holy Spirit went to work. You may feel you are an ordinary human being but the Holy Spirit is in residence all you need to do is to activate Him. Give a command and power will issue forth and something is done. You would be as surprised as the one who is healed. Sensitive to the Holy Spirit how many would go out and do the same. As the Holy Spirit gives you a nudge go out and do what the Lord asked you to do.

            Luke 17:11-16 (TLB) “As they continued onward toward Jerusalem, they reached the border between Galilee and Samaria,  and as they entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance,  crying out, "Jesus, sir, have mercy on us!"  He looked at them and said, "Go to the Jewish priest and show him that you are healed!" And as they were going, their leprosy disappeared.  One of them came back to Jesus, shouting, "Glory to God, I'm healed!" He fell flat on the ground in front of Jesus, face downward in the dust, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a despised Samaritan.” As you move, just believe. Stop doubting, believe “Go to the Jewish priest and show him that you are healed!” the word of God is real and should cushion your heart. The word of God should give you courage. The word of God never fails.

            Acts 5:15-16 (TLB) “Sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow would fall across some of them as he went by!  And crowds came in from the Jerusalem suburbs, bringing their sick folk and those possessed by demons; and every one of them was healed.” Sick people were brought out on the street on beds and mats so that at least, supernaturally, Peter’s shadow will fall upon them, a healing operation. Everyone of them was healed.

            Acts 19:11-12 (TLB) “And God gave Paul the power to do unusual miracles,  so that even when his handkerchiefs or parts of his clothing were placed upon sick people, they were healed, and any demons within them came out.” Father we thank you. You have given us all authority and power from heaven, supernatural gifts of healings and working of miracles. Father we plead with you, let your power fall upon us. Let you kingdom come. There are lots of works to be done, a lot of need pending in several places. Do not allow us to minister empty handed. Equip us for the work of the ministry; let your spirit come upon us as it came upon Jesus like a dove. Command extraordinary anointing upon us in Jesus’ name.
